Thank you for releasing Spike. I installed it as a UCI engine in the Fritz8 gui with 128M. It runs fine and plays well. The only "problem" is that it doesn't show all of its "thinking".

When i double-click the SpikeConfig.xml file, it is loaded by Internet Explorer, with this info:
Spike configuration File
// The Spike configuration file is an xml-file.
// To edit the configuration file, right-click on the file and choose "edit".
But when i right-click this file, i don't have an "edit" option. This is on WinME.
How can i edit the SpikeConfig.xml file?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
oops, we didn't expect such a beviour with Windows ME.
In this case I propose that you start your favorite editor (on WinME maybe Notepad) and open the configfile manually for editing.
We noticed lately that it is maybe a problem to deal with that xml-file, we will have a solution with the next version of Spike.
Best wishes

You can start up notepad (or wordpad or some other text editor) first and then open that XML file. Alternatively, (although I don't know if this works with WinME), you can right-click and then look for an option like "Open with..." and then choose a text editor.

Another possibility, I assume, is to rename the file to SpikeConfig.txt, then open and edit it as a text file, and finally rename it to SpikeConfig.xml again

Thank you for releasing Spike. I installed it as a UCI engine in the Fritz8 gui with 128M. It runs fine and plays well. The only "problem" is that it doesn't show all of its "thinking".
Hi,
what is missing ?
Greetings Volker

This is not really a problem. It is more like an annoyance. In the "main engine pane" of the fritz8 gui, in the lower right of the screen layout, Spike does not show its thinking while it is thinking. But after the move is made, the thinking is shown.

Thanks for the Info. I´ll try to fix it in the next version (probably 0.8) of spike.
