Load sequentially/randomly from pgn/epd with PSWBTM

Postby Marc Moisan » 01 Dec 2006, 23:47

I would like to run nunn matches using PSWBTM - i.e. from different starting positions. Is there a way to do this? Do I need to write a batch file? Or is there any simple solution? (I'm not good at writing batch files!)

Thank you,

Hello Marc,

PSWBTM does not as yet (Pradu is a gifted programmer so this is probably only a matter of time) have this functionality but there are alternatives such as in the link below.

Guenther Simon could probably write you a proforma batch file if you asked nicely.

Of course there are other non-Winboard alternatives but these you can explore independently.

:)

I hope this helps.

Later.

Hi Roger,

Yes IGWBTM does this, but PSWBTM is easier to use in general. Besides I think there is a bug in the load randomly function of Igor's manager. The problem is that it cycles; say I have 10 positions - the manager will start (for example) 1-7-3-4-1-7-3-4-etc..

As for non-Winboard alternatives, I don't even want to consider them!

Thank you,
