Alf 1.07

Postby Casper W. Berg » 30 Jan 2007, 01:17

A new version of Alf is available.

Most noticeable improvements are:
Built-in graphical interface (optional) with a barplot of the static eval.
New book.
Less memory usage.

Hopefully also a little stronger :D

Did you add a command line switch also - 'x' for winboard or 'u' for uci? (no quotes)

Try my compiled exe package - no java required.

Sorry Mike,
I'm getting all mixed up here :?

I gave you the command line options for 'Mediocre Chess' by mistake.

These are the command line switches for 'Alf 1.07' (exe version doesn't need these)

winboard /cp /fd="ALFS DIRECTORY HERE" /fcp="java -Xms400m -Xmx600m -jar Alf107.jar"

Jim.

Hi Mike,
on start the command console starts up and closes imiedietly
with no error messages.

how exactly do you start the program?

If you are using Winboard, you should do as Jim said.

If you are trying to start it with its own GUI, then try running it from the command prompt rather than just clicking on the "alfgui" file.
Then you should be able to see if there are any error messages.

Thanks for the interest :)
