new ChestUCI 3.9 - the last version!

Postby F.Huber » 16 Mar 2005, 23:46

Hello Chest-friends!

In the last two weeks Heiner Marxen made some further optimizations in WinChest,
and also I have now finally implemented all my ideas (not less than 10!) for
ChestUCI improvements. Since I?ve now really no more ideas how to further improve
ChestUCI, this will probably be the last version - at least for a VERY long time. ;-)

Here are the changes/news in short form:
- maximum mate depth increased from 62 to 126 (resp. 63 for helpmates)
- new search mode ?AutoTurbo?: more efficient automatic search for the optimum
solution parameters (needs considerable less calculation steps!)
- if the calculation of the complete solution tree takes too much time, after
aborting you?ll now at least get the main line (PV) of the solution
- also in automatic-mode aborting now gives the last found solution
- for ?ThreatRange? now also a list of values ?a,b,c? can be entered
- two new entries ?only_CR? and ?only_CRK? in the option ?SearchOrder?
- a complete new option ?UseClipboard? allows the exchange (write/read) of
problem-data (FEN + solution parameters) with the clipboard, which (if used
correctly) makes the handling of ChestUCI really more comfortable
- some optimizations of special- and automatic-mode in WinChest and ChestUCI

As always at this point also this time my hint to have a look at the included
program description ?English.txt? for detailed informations about the changes
and news - a simple text search in this file will be sufficient.

The new version can be downloaded at the following link:

Enjoy the new version, :-)
best regards,
Franz.
